Mancala 2 Player: Sowstone

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026 · This edition covers availability in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Mancala 2 Player: Sowstone (“the game”, “Sowstone”, “we”) is published by Gameplay Labs LLC. The game has no account, no login, no server of our own, and no ads. This policy explains how data is handled.

Information we collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our own servers. Your games in progress, settings, and stats (such as wins and streaks) are stored on your device, and we never receive them.

If you use your device’s own backup (such as iCloud Backup or Google backup), your game data may be included in that backup. Device backups are controlled by you and by Apple or Google; we do not receive or access them. The limited app-usage data processed by Google for analytics is described below.

Result images you share

When a game ends, Sowstone can create a result card (the final board, the score, and the game’s name) on your device. If you choose to share it, it is sent only through your device’s own share feature to the app or person you pick. We do not upload, receive, or store these images, and sharing is never required to use any feature.

Age information from the app store

Where the law requires it (for example, in certain U.S. states), your app store may provide the game with an age range and whether a parent or guardian has approved the game (for example, through Apple’s Declared Age Range or Google Play’s Age Signals). Sowstone uses this information only on your device to provide an age-appropriate experience and to comply with the law. We do not store it, send it to our analytics provider, or use it for advertising or any other purpose.

No advertising

The game shows no ads and contains no advertising software. We do not collect your device’s advertising identifier and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Analytics

The game uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is used (for example, when a game starts and ends, which rule set and difficulty were chosen, the result, whether the share button was used, and steps on the Sowstone Full Game purchase screen) and to improve the game. Google processes this data on our behalf as our service provider, including app-interaction events, an app-instance identifier, coarse device information (such as device model and operating system version), and approximate region derived from IP address. This analytics data is not used for advertising, and ads personalization signals are disabled. You can turn analytics off at any time in the game’s settings with “Share anonymous usage statistics”. Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period and then deleted. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.

Purchases

The game offers an optional one-time purchase, Sowstone Full Game (the Master computer level, Oware and additional rule sets, house-rule switches, move analysis, board themes, and stats). Payment is processed entirely by Google Play or Apple’s App Store through your store account; we do not receive or store your name, payment card details, or billing address. The game only receives confirmation from the store that the purchase was completed, and your Sowstone Full Game status is stored on your device and checked with the store. Our analytics provider records that a purchase occurred (product and price, as reported by the store) as part of app-usage statistics; this is not linked to your identity. For how Google or Apple handles payment information, see the Google Privacy Policy or Apple’s privacy policy. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live — including the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand — you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to processing. Because we operate no servers and hold no personal data about you, most requests can be answered immediately: the only data processed off your device is the app-usage data handled by our analytics provider (Google), as described above, which you can turn off at any time in the game’s settings. Information processed by Google may be transferred to and stored in the United States and other countries where Google operates. To exercise any right or raise a concern, contact privacy@gameplaylabs.org, and please include the game’s name (“Sowstone”) in the subject line so we can identify your request — we will acknowledge your message within 30 days and respond without undue delay. UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Your U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have the right to know, delete, or opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. Because we do not collect or store personal information on our own servers, requests to know or delete generally concern the app-usage data processed by our analytics provider (Google) — see the Google Privacy Policy linked above. Questions: privacy@gameplaylabs.org.

Children

The game is intended for users 13 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If your app store indicates that a user is under 13, the game shows a notice instead of starting play and turns analytics off on that device.

Your choices

Because we store nothing on our side, you can turn off analytics in the game’s settings and clear all game data at any time by clearing the game’s storage or uninstalling it (data in your device’s own backups is managed in your device settings).
